Ken Burns, co-director of The Vietnam War, has been making documentary films for almost 40 years. Since the Academy Award-nominated Brooklyn Bridge in 1981, Burns has gone on to direct and produce some of the most acclaimed historical documentaries ever made, including The Civil War; Baseball; Jazz; The Statue of Liberty; The National Parks: America’s Best Idea; The Roosevelts: An Intimate History; and Jackie Robinson.
Lynn Novick, co-director of The Vietnam War, is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary filmmaker. For nearly 30 years, she has been producing and directing films about American history and culture, among them some of the most acclaimed and top-rated documentaries to have aired on PBS. Her films include Prohibition, Baseball, Jazz, Frank Lloyd Wright and The War.
Admiral Mike Mullen
Admiral Mike Mullen is a retired United States Navy admiral, who served as the 17th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the highest-ranking officer in the United States Armed Forces) from October 1, 2007, to September 30, 2011. Mullen previously served as the Navy's 28th Chief of Naval Operations. He was appointed to four different four-star assignments including Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, and Vice Chief of Naval Operations. Mullen is now a Professor at Princeton University.
General Barry McCaffrey
General Barry McCaffrey is a former United States Army officer, news commentator and business consultant. He received three Purple Heart medals for injuries sustained during his service in Vietnam, two Silver Stars for valor, and two Distinguished Service Crosses. He served as an adjunct professor at U.S. Military Academy and its Bradley Professor of International Security Studies from 2001 to 2008. He is currently a military analyst for NBC and MSNBC as well as president of his own consulting firm, BR McCaffrey Associates.
