WINSTON CHURCHILL

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill was a man of unmatchable gravity, arguably the most important person of the 20th Century. Born to a British father, and an American mother, Churchill was a statesman, a celebrated author, a fearless wartime leader, and artist, an orator of astounding skill, and a magnet for controversy. Fifty years after his death in 1965, a man loved by his countrymen, but plagued by his own “black dog” of depression, remains an icon the world over. Pursued with the full cooperation of his family, the story of Winston Churchill — Florentine’s first film on a man not wholly American — will be a multi-part series.
