Laura Jenemann

Laura Jenemann is the supervisory librarian of the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center’s Moving Image and Recorded Sound Research Centers located in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the Library, Laura was the communication, media, and film librarian at Boston University and the media librarian and liaison librarian to Film Studies and Dance at George Mason University. Jenemann has worked in library and archives related roles with audiovisual material at A+E Networks, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and J. Walter Thompson (JWT), as well as various public libraries.

Laura twice chaired the American Library Association’s Notable Films for Adults and served as chair for the Film & Media Round Table. She has reviewed documentaries in various capacities and writes and presents on the use of public performance rights of films. Laura has also written and presented on the use of Wikipedia in college and university classes, including the book chapter “The Wheel of Wikipedia: Collaborating at Boston University Libraries,” in “Cases on Establishing Effective Collaborations in Academic Libraries (co-authored with Rachel Dwyer), 2023. She is the author of “The Rite of Spring Information Cycle Activity” in “Framing Information Literacy (PIL#73): Teaching Grounded in Theory, Pedagogy, and Practice,” 2018.

Laura’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Theater, a Master of Science in Library and Information Science and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
