2022 Next Generation Angels Awards Student History Documentary Film Festival
Join us for the Fourth Annual Next Generation Angels Awards Student History Film Festival, hosted by Mike Mashon, Director of the Moving Image Section of the Library of Congress. This festival showcases short documentaries made by middle and high school students, all of which were created through research, analysis, hard work, and creativity.
In this festival, you’ll get to watch great documentaries and hear interviews with their filmmakers. Discover how they were inspired, how they conducted their research, and the artistic process they went through to create their films. You’ll also learn how they analyzed the materials and information they found and the unexpected discoveries they had.
The festival features the third, second, and first-place winners of the Junior and Senior Divisions of the National History Day competition. You’ll see documentaries on a variety of topics, from wolves to whaling rights, grassroots debate, and diplomacy.
If you’re a history enthusiast, a teacher looking for ways to engage your students, or simply curious about the past, this festival is for you. Watch the exceptional documentaries made by Lachlan Gebhart, Aubrey Grier, Krin Blegen, Jessie Henderson, Abigail Peters, and Maci Hill.
If you’re interested in making your own documentary or want to learn more about the festival and the educational materials that accompany it, visit thebetterangelssociety.org/ngaa.
