In Memoriam of Michelle Smith

Beloved Board Member and dear friend Michelle Smith passed away Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Michelle’s enthusiasm and support for the work of The Better Angels Society and the films of Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and the entire Florentine team were infectious, inspiring,and uplifting to all of us. She was a cheerleader for the human spirit, an avid consumer of excellence in storytelling, a devotee of the importance of understanding our history, and a champion of the arts. She truly loved her involvement with The Better Angels Society and I can not think of a “better angel”. 

It is hard to imagine that Michelle could inspire and motivate more now than she did in life, but we know that her actions in life will have a profound and lasting impact on all that knew and loved her.
